More on the ATWT DVD

October 26, 2011

We’re going to keep spreading the word about the DVD set as much as possible. The entire future of soap episode DVD rests on this. If we should there is a market more will come. If we don’t, it won’t. It’s just that simple. No matter what your soap, BUY THIS SET!

Listen to interview with the selector of the episodes on the As the World Turns DVD set Roger Newcomb. This is a LONG interview & I couldn’t find a good way to pause or fast forward back to your place, so block out some time (I think 75 minutes) and listen. It’s well worth it.

Important points in these below interviews with Mark Yates below.
Guiding Light DVD set definitely set for first quarter of 2012. The episodes have not yet been chosen, but will be by Roger Newcomb of We Love Soaps.
– A second DVD set of undetermined content will probably follow it next year.
– Online streaming or download will also be available internationally, as are the discs. No other details available on this as they are starting with a focus on physical DVDs.
– They are also working on preserving all footage before videotapes deteriorate.
–  Yates: “There are some episodes prior to that at the Paley Center.  There are some kinescopes, too and we are working out the rights and ownership issues.” So we might eventually get at least select stuff prior to Sept. 1979 too.

Guiding Light Cast Round Up 9

August 4, 2010

This is the ninth in an irregular feature where we will report updates on what cast members of Guiding Light are doing now.

Bethany Joy Galeotti (Michelle Bauer Santos #4) performs as half of the duo Everly. Tickets are now available (and if you want tips on other things to do in South Dakota, e-mail me).

Hunt Block (Ben Warren) did make the final cut of Salt as the President. I haven’t seen it yet, but BenWarrenFan from YouTube assures me he has lines and gets to confront a bad guy (before being knocked out). She also, not surprisingly, told me he still looks good. Can’t wait to see it.

Robert Newman (Josh Lewis) is in this preview of his production of Annie.
