I’m starting a new update. I’ve been finding a bunch of dead links as some previously accessible archived sites have disappeared, including Stenzmania. I’m going through and finding stories I have republished and updating links on these lists. I have luckily republished some Manny stories and I just got some more stories sent to me. Look for me to add them soon. Some of the Internet Archive sites are unstable and you might have to try again or follow the directions I gave in the post below.

“Against the Wind” – A Mannysmoke spin-off, this is the story of what happens in the gap in Mannysmoke when Beth is kidnapped. Texas Ranger Phillip Spaulding comes to her aid.

“Come With Me” – A 1920s fanfic – I’d have paid money if they had filmed this one. Danny would look gorgeous in a 1920s suit, of course Danny looks great in anything, but….
Michelle has just come back from Europe when thoroughly modern Drew convinces her to go to a speakeasy. It’s an epic night and Michelle meets Nino, Ray, and Danny. It’s an exciting time when Carmen and Bernard are fighting to get control of bootlegging industry in Springfield. When Michelle rejects Nino, he calls Frank Cooper and David Grant who “raid the joint.” Danny and Ray get the girls out safely, but Drew drags Michelle away figuring they are involved with the mob since Nino is. The next day after visiting with a few “clients,” Danny and Ray pick up Pilar who is just returning to town from Europe from the train station and then search for the girls. The girls are happier to be found than they care to admit.

“Finding My Heart at Willow’s End” – A Round Robin written with a Northern romantic view of the South. Danny sees Michelle from a steamship’s deck and immediately disembarks determined to find her. An engaging story that kind of reminds me of Mannysmoke. 😉

“Guiding Light Does Nick at Nite” – A Mannyac fan mixes classic TV shows with the Manny story.

“Interruptions” – After Ed dispatched the unacceptable Jesse Blue from courting Michelle, she decided to take after the youngest Santos whose reputation was extremely scandalous to prove that reputation didn’t matter. So she sets her cap at Ray, only to discover that he’s a priest and his cousin Danny with whom she’s been verbally sparring is the one with a bad reputation, but once Danny kisses her the only plot she has left is to become Mrs. Danny Santos as soon as possible.

“It’s About Time” – The Mannifield Players do a short version of Emma. Actually, I like this better than the original, it’s my second least favorite Austen novel, but this is good.

“Mannysmoke” – This well-known Manny fanfic moves the town of Springfield into the world of Gunsmoke. Order is kept in town by Marshall Danny Santos, who is completely swept off his feet when his best friend’s little sister arrives to teach school. It is a dual tribute to Gunsmoke and Manny and is a very interesting and informative little farce. There’s a good bit of a Ray-Cassie pairing in this also and it’s actually written a lot like Gunsmoke, at least if it had a higher parental guidance rating. There are 13 chapters. 😉

“Much Ado About Danny and Michelle” by Melissa – A one shot that casts Danny and Michelle as Shakespeare characters during their annulment separation.

“Noir” – The Mannifield Players take on the film noir classic Laura. In case you don’t know the story, a detective (Lt. Santos in this case) falls in love with a woman (Michelle) whose murder he is investigating. The theme song is simply gorgeous and if you haven’t ever heard it, stop and listen right now.

“The Other Woman” – The Mannifield Players do the classic movie A Letter to Three Wives. I never really liked this movie, so I don’t quite remember how it ends. I think after reason for suspicion is spread over all 3 husbands, they all turn up. Then in the end one of them is revealed to have been planning to meet the author of the letter, but changed his mind.

“Past, Present, and Future” –The story is bookended with Manny happily building the Laurel Falls house after Michelle is cleared of Ben Warren’s murder when a bump on the head, just like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, sends Michelle to a different world where she is a very different version of Michelle Bauer and Danny, Jesse, Maureen, Holly, Vanessa, Miguel, Carmen, Mick, and Pilar are all there as historical variations of themselves. They start to play out the plot of the movie Titanic, but soon take on a variation all their own. How it all works is never really explained, but it’s quite a ride so just buy into the premise and hang on. My major complaint is that they leave 1912 Danny on the deck with Michelle having just disappeared on him. Danny would never give up looking for her as the ship sank around him his desperation would increase until death came for him, what an awful way to go. However, as the story shows, Danny and Michelle belong together past, present, and future.

“Until You” – Michelle is a scandalously improper young lady in early 19th century Virginia, will the newly arrived from Europe Danny Santos be the one to tame her? Another one I’m sorry is incomplete, although a few of the scenes are a bit, ok a lot, over the top.

“Wagon Train” – Not set up as an episode of the famous Western, it does put Springfield citizens in similar roles to the characters on the series. It’s a nice piece and I especially enjoyed the Mindy-Rusty references as I loved them. I wish it were a longer story. I will just say in passing though that the storyline of women going to live in Wyoming after they give women the vote is played here for laughs, but that really was the entire idea behind the law.

“Wuthering Lights” – The Mannifield Players present their take on Wuthering Heights. I always hated that book, so I only read the first paragraph of this one. I don’t know if it deserves a smiley face or not, but I thought someone might be looking for it sometime, so here it is.
