Do you have “Love in the Afternoon” by Ed Zimmermann on your list? My apologies if you do and I missed it. Ed played Dr.Joe Werner on The Guiding Light from 1967 until 1972 when he suddenly and tragically died of a heart attack in York, Maine. He was there appearing in the play “Who Killed Santa Claus” starring Arlene Francis. The play may have been headed for Broadway.
The novel is excellent and although written some time ago it still stands up today as relevant and entertaining,
So sad Ed passing on. We all lost a good actor and a good writer as well. I think his book would be enjoyed by everyone.
It is available at times on ebay, Amazon.com, and other booksellers.

We’re always glad of suggestions even if we already have them. It means people are really soap books and that’s always a good thing. Old books are most certainly welcome. Is “Love in the Afternoon” a novelization of his time on “Guiding Light”?
January 16, 2012 at 11:38 pm |
yes it is based on his time on the show. it is the kind of book that after you are done reading it, you want to read more. think of all his good performances and writing he could have done—so sad. at least he left some work behind people can enjoy. patti
