While looking for Guiding Light information, I sometimes find things that I think are of interest relating to other soaps. This collection of Odds and Ends related to various soaps that someone may want to know some time. Look for another odds and ends post soon.

The December 14, 2016 issue of Soap Opera Digest list a small group of Hollywood stars who visited various soaps over the years. They include:

  • 1980 – Sammy Davis, Jr. on One Life to Live
  • 1981 – Zsa Zsa Gabor on As the World Turns
  • 1981 – Milton Berle and Elizabeth Taylor on General Hospital
  • 1986 – Liberace on Another World
  • 1993 – Charlton Heston on The Bold and the Beautiful
  • 2011 – Carol Burnett on All My Children (one of several guest stops)

The Jan. 26, 2016 issue of CBS Soaps in Depth adds

  • Michael McDonald guest-starred on The Young and the Restless in the 1980s where he sang his hits “Our Love” and “Sweet Freedom.”

The February 22, 2016 issue of Soap Opera Digest has a list of this year’s pre-nominees.

The Bold and the Beautiful threw Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan Forrester) a good luck party when she went off to the Ironman competition. The photos include Producer Mark Pinciotti, Producer/Director Cynthia J. Popp, Supervising Producer Rhonda Friedman, and Supervising Producer Casey Kasprzyk. After a one-car automobile accident (it’s believed he fell asleep at the wheel and crashed when he woke and over compensated) Nathaniel Marston died in the hospital on November 11, 2015. Marston appeared on As the World Turns where he played Eddie who with Georgia were shaping up to be the Tom and Margo of the new generation when they were given a happy ending and written off the show. Sadly he had personal issues off screen which dogged him on his new role on One Life to Live and beyond. His mother said that he had gotten his life together when the accident happened.
