This is the seventh in an irregular feature where we will report updates on what cast members of Guiding Light are doing now.
Tina Sloan (Lillian Raines) has tweeted a tentative schedule for her one woman show Changing Shoes this fall. She’s scheduled at NYC Sept 20, Pittsburgh Oct 11, Cincinnati on Oct 18, and Houston on Oct 25.
Beth Chamberlain (Beth Raines #2) is interviewed about her upcoming Emmys.

Marcy Rylan (Lizzie Spaulding #6) is interviewed about Abby Newman her new Young and the Restless role.

Laura Wright (Cassie Layne #1) has an in depth interview in the May 11, 2010 issue of Soap Opera Digest. I think this interview makes clear that if you like Cassie, you’d like Laura. She is continuing to star as Carly in General Hospital, the show she left Guiding Light for. She is also a vintner now. Read about here and sign up for her newsletter: http://www.standingsunwine.com
Zach Conroy (James Spaulding #2) is going to present at the Daytime Emmy Awards.
Susan Pratt (Dr. Claire Ramsey, Michelle’s biological mother) is featured in a “Where Are They Now” article in the May 4, 2010 issue of Soap Opera Digest. She reports that she’s been a real estate agent for Ginnel Read Estate in Westchester NY for 14 years. She’s currently divorced. She and her husband have 3 grown daughters, the youngest 2 in school and the oldest about to be married. She wouldn’t be opposed to returning to a soap, but she likes her life as it is now.
Scott Bailey (Sandy Foster, the fake Jonathan) and fiance Adrienne Frantz (Amber Moore, most recently on Y&R) had their garage turned into a workout room on the Do It Yourself’s Channel Garage Mahal.
Sharon Leal (Dahlia Crede, the singer was Marcus’s girlfriend and good friends with Michelle) has been cast in a starring role in the new Fall CW series Hellcats. In between her GL role and this new series she was also on the cult hit series Boston Public and had roles in movies including This Christmas and the Why Did I Get Married? films. Read more about it and see a trailer of her new series, here:

Ricky Paull Goldin (Gus Aitoro) gives an interview here:

Vincent Irizarry’s (Lujack/Nick McHenry) will write an article in the July 1st issue of Gladys Magazine.
Frank Grillo (Hart Jessup #5) and Victoria Platt Tilford (Vicky Spaulding) are in ABC’s new vampire show The Gates on Sun. at 10PM EST. Johnny Messner (Rob Layne #1) also has a guest role on the series. http://abc.go.com/shows/the-gates
As part of his promotion of the show above, Grillo tweeted this photo of his kids. Their mother is Wendy Moniz (Dinah Marler #3) and together with Grillo, they made up the very popular Dart pairing on screen. http://twitpic.com/1ysxxc
Crystal Hunt (Lizzie Spaulding #5) is interviewed about her fiancee and their broken engagement, complete with lawsuit.

Ron Raines (Alan Spaulding #3) is featured in a interview about Guiding Light and his production of “A Little Night Music”

Also, Raines performing July 26th “Just Singing and Dancing” NYC, Town Hall, one night only!
Melina Kanakaredes (Eleni Cooper #1) continues in her lead role as Stella on CSI: New York. It’s the second series she’s starred in since she left GL, but I still like her as Eleni best. These roles have too much angst and not enough of her sparkling spunk.
Bloss shines on. Jerry verDorn (Ross Marler) and Elizabeth Keifer (Blake Marler) have announced the date for the 7th Annual Daytime Stars and Strikes Event, Oct. 10th, 2010 from 1-5 pm. It will be at the Leisure Time Bowling Facility in New York. You can bowl with a cast member for $110 or $75 to be a spectator. Actors from ATWT, GL, AMC, and OLTL are expected to participate. http://daytimestarsandstrikes.com
Justin Deas (Buzz Cooper) is interviewed about his memories about his hometown.

Travis Kvapil posted on Facebook page that he had appeared on Guiding Light. He drove Reva around the race track when she was trying to live life to the fullest after being diagnosed with cancer.
Robert Newman (Josh Lewis), Gina Tognoni (Dinah Marler #), Trent Dawson (Minster who counsels Michael Burke, Henry Coleman ATWT), Kim Zimmer (Reva Shayne Lewis), Mandy Bruno (Marina Cooper #6), Ron Raines (Alan Spaulding #3) and Michael Park (Jack Snyder ATWT, Dirk Steamboat) all Heart the Red Cross. They are performing at a Red Cross Fundraiser Oct. 9th in NYC at the Red Cross Headquarters on 49th street.

That CH story is like something out of the mind of Jill Lorie Hurst! Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.
I miss my Gl friends.

I still miss Springfield too. In addition to my cast updates, make sure you check out the WSPR videos. I try to make people feel like they’ve gotten a little bit of news from Springfield. It helps.

I’m going to reblog some of my posts with the highest views. I actually tend to get a lot of hit on my pages, so I’m skipping them, but this is the top rated regular post with the most hits.
