Guiding Light Finale – Lighthouse Update

1120sandy20hook20nj20lighthouse Another location found! The lighthouse that was shot around the final scenes was in Sandy Hook, New Jersey.  From a photo (not the one I attached, but that one didn’t link very well)  I think this might have been used in the opening credits during the last couple of years as well. Listen to Robert Newman (Josh Lewis) describe shooting the final scenes (as well as promote his new play “Sessions” – that’s the cast he mentions in the second half) in this interview.

Last Updated December 8, 2015: I added my current signature box, made the video an embed instead of a link, and fixed the broken linked to image.

Sigh. I still see “The End” scrawled across the finale. I still see the one year forward jump and Mallet and Dinah together in Europe and Josh and Reva and Colin driving off in HB’s truck and the four Musketeers and Manny celebrating. The song “Together” from Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants playing in the background. What a perfect song for the finale with our faves reunited and forever imprinted in our memory. The End. When GL left, the show took a lot of the soap opera history with it and left a big hole in daytime which will never be filled by its likes again. Never.
