Lucy and Alan-Michael Beginning

Normally I only do events for couples that aren’t Manny, not a string of highlights, but I’m making an exception for LAM both because I like them and there really isn’t much of them on YouTube for some reason so when I stumbled across a highlight set for them, I decided to share. This the very beginning of the story. I always will say that Alan-Michael and Harley were real love (there is a reason they both ended up married to each other’s siblings), but LAM truly sparkled together. They brought out magic and the best in each other. Although they found each other and sparked almost at once they both were in heavy storylines of their own. Lucy came to town when she found out her father Buzz had drained her trust fund (to help fund his other daughter’s wedding) and discovered he’d never told her he had another family. Alan-Michael, having lost Spaulding Enterprises to Roger and Jenna was working with Gilly to get it back. Now for the clips:

This is really set up for the story. We get a rehash on Alan-Michael and Gilly and why they are working together to bring down Roger, then a brief Lucy introduction. The woman they are looking for his a now retired woman who used to be a secretary at Spaulding and whose testimony helped Jenna (fradulantly it turned out although Jenna didn’t know it and trusted Roger) gain control of Spaulding.

(Part 1)

Eventually after Buzz came back to town he decided he needed to make amends to the two children he had abandoned, but he didn’t tell them any of the truth. Harley wanted money for her wedding to Mallet, but it was Buzz “appropriating” what was supposed to be her money when she turned 21 that brings Lucy to town breathing fire.

(Part 2)

Nadine does have a point, but considering how much she lied, she really doesn’t have a leg to stand on. Buzz had raised Lucy as a grifter and she was still acting like that at this point although she quickly outgrows that once she comes to town. I don’t believe he never met another woman interested in science. Didn’t he have science classes in college that were co-ed? Buzz is mixing up fact and fancy here. Gilly: “Can we keep the flying objects to a minimum?” Gilly and A-M can’t find the secretary in every hospital. David Grant is on trial for a murder he didn’t commit. A fact that will not stop him from going after Michelle for a murder she didn’t commit when he returned to town.

(Part 3)

Lucy gets fired and talks her friend into quitting too, partly on the strength of her “trustfund.” Buzz flies to the Southwest and liberates the money for Harley’s wedding.

(Part 4)

I can’t believe that Lucy thinks anyone would believe this story. I think they are implying that Lucy got a lot of her knowledge from books, so she mispronounces words and names. See Lucy was raised as a grifter, but she had a good heart all along. The old lady at 3:27 is Brandon’s former secretary Bess Lowell and the woman that A-M is searching for. They are carrying David Grant out of the courtroom on their shoulders because he’s just been cleared of killing Vinnie (which was a crime he didn’t commit, but went on the lamb over – which he should have remembered later with Michelle). Weren’t any of the things in Lucy’s car the friend’s? She really did betray Lucy. Lucy should pull over if she’s crying like that.

(Part 5)

Alan-Michael and Eleni have a heart to heart talk and realize they are in a good place, but are looking forward to him finding someone else. 5:50 Diner is on 5th and Lester, also call it Wheels and Meals Diner by name. Some really great Harley-Frank stuff. I didn’t realize that Lucy (who was clearly brought in to fill Harley’s spot since she was leaving) crossed that much. It’s scenes like this that made people think they were going for A-M and Gilly romance. So sorry JC had troubles in real life, Billy needed him.

(Part 6)

Every time Frank starts to give Buzz a break, something else comes up. That was pretty darn mean of Roger. He had done much worse to A-M than he did to Roger. He could have been decent. “No, I never kid about my in-laws.”

(Part 7)

Alan-Michael and Lucy have their first honest conversation and make a first connection. Gilly and A-M adjust their plan. Jenna connected with Lucy. “You think dogs are loyal, they got nothing on me.” Jenna’s hair is so pretty there. Nice shout out by Lucy why is Spaulding headquartered in Springfield.

Even from the beginning Lucy and A-M practically hummed with chemistry. Jenna truly did believe Roger. Alex had no ability to read people at all, I don’t know what A-M is talking about. Lucy, “I’m lucky you didn’t name me Kawasaki.” Really Lucy was the kid who he didn’t leave. It’s the other ones who got the shaft. He was a better dad to Lucy than to Harley and Frank and better still to Coop & Rocky until shipped them to UK.

(Part 9)

Lucy: “Anybody ever tell you, you don’t have a sense of humor.” Alan-Michael: “Only your sister.” Still say it isn’t a coincidence A-M and Harley ending up marrying each other’s siblings. Alex is back. Lucy does well at Spaulding and will work there at least until A-M divorced.

(Part 10)

5:30 I really like Roger’s story about sneaking into the Spaulding Executive Lunch room. 8:20 Alex’s childhood story is nice too. But who wouldn’t like Henry better than Brandon. Henry was the tops and Brandon was evil personified.

(Part 11)

Frank and Alan-Michael only get along when they are rescuing either Eleni or Marina. A-M always felt father like to Marina until the then writers decided him sleeping with her was a good idea. Frank’s not stupid enough to fall for that. A-M won points standing up for Lucy. Frank really was a great big brother to both Harley and Lucy. I miss this Eleni. 12:30 Eleni is right. A-M does like women with spirit. OK that was a bit of luck, but I’ll take it to move the sl along.

(Part 12)

Oh that’s the same room Cassie and Pilar will live in later. “I have this need, call it neurotic, to open up my wallet and see it (my credit card) smiling back at me.” Her plant is Ethel, as in Lucy and Ethel. ;-) LOL I love that Bess is having trouble communicating, but her mind is still razor sharp.

(Part 13)

Jenna and Lucy lose their good start. Bess finally gets Eleni to reach out to A-M and despite Eleni’s reluctance to tell where Bess is unless A-M tells her the whole story and Eleni is there Frank spills the beans. Some really nice happy Frank-Eleni stuff. I miss them.

(Part 14)

I’m so glad that Bridget pointed out that A-M was her cousin. Oh Henry is helping A-M that’s got to be good news. I love Henry.

(Part 15)

Nice recap. I like that A-M knows the layout of the hospital. That’s funny that Marina’s surgery was done by someone that we didn’t know. Looks like we missed out on kind of an important scene with everyone else arriving at The Willows. Nice comment about A-M thinking of the Coopers as family. I really think he did. Like Eleni actually asking Bess. Jenna truly was a priority for Henry even though he lied to her. I think A-M is taking the wrong tact here. Lucy & Nadine did have some similarities.

One Response to “Lucy and Alan-Michael Beginning”

  1. Gina D. Says:

I know there are a lot of youtube vids on Mallet and Dinah and the hits are outstanding there, but could you do a tribute to them, too? I also agree that it should have been Alan-Michael and Harley together and I was one of the viewers who wanted Alan-Michael and Gilly together. I just never could take to Lucy. Never liked her for some reason.
