This is the fourth in an irregular feature where we will report updates on what cast members of Guiding Light are doing now.
Jerry VerDorn (Ross Marler – the one and only) jumped soaps to fill the shoes of another iconic soap character, Clint on One Life to Live, back when GL took him off contract. He’s still there and in fact is in the middle of a front burner quad story with his very recently ex-wife Nora, Bo, and some floozy he quickly married on the rebound. Taking over Clint is why “Ross” was wearing that unattractive mustache in his last few appearences because the original “Clint” had one. However, after seeing it on screen, OLTL wisely decided to use him without it.
Ron Raines (Alan Spaulding #3) had to cancel a recent concert in Omaha due to a nonlife threatening medical issue. He is still scheduled for two performances this summer A Little Night Music and Titanic in Washington, D.C. and St. Louis, MO respectively. Read more about it on his official website here: http://ronrainesonline.com/Concert.html
At the So Long Springfield: Connecticut, Justin Deas (Buzz Cooper) revealed he’d just had a hip replacement a couple of weeks before which would put the operation in mid-February.
Sorry to report this after the fact. Allison Hirschlag (Lizzie Spaulding #4) produced and starred in a play based on urban legends called The Weird at Manhattan Theatre Source in New York City in Feb. Her mother is Julia Barr who plays Brooke English on All My Children.
Laura Lee Bundy (Marah Lewis #5) explains her unusual approach to marketing her indie country music in this interview:

Paige Turco (Dinah Marler #2) is appearing the NBC Movie Secrets of the Mountain. It will air Fri., April 16, 2010 on NBC at 8pm EST.
Wendy Moniz (Dinah Marler #3) and Frank Grillo (Hart Jessup #5), who made up Dart, have been happily married off screen since 2000. The couple has two boys; Liam (born August 2004) and Rio Joseph Grillo (born January 25, 2008).
John Bolger (Phillip Spaulding #3) suffered through a trial by fire when GL made the unpopular decision to recast Phillip Spaulding in 1985. He is the Phillip that danced with Reva in the famous Blue Orchid dance number where Kim Zimmer slipped and almost really fell off the bar to what would have surely been a serious accident. (Look for Reva: The Scarlet Years on YouTube to see it.) Since 2006 he’s played Mayor Garrett Floyd as a recurring character on General Hospital. Bolger is the nephew of Ray Bolger whose most famous role was the Scarecrow in the 1939 classic Wizard of Oz.
Vincent Irizarry (Lujack/Nick McHenry, Alexandra Spaulding’s long lost twin sons who were raised separately) continues in his role on All My Children as Dr. David Hayward who has just married his former sister-in-law (his brother Leo died) Greenlee who just happens to be played by Rebecca Budig (Michelle Bauer #3).
Kassie DePalva (Chelsea Reardon, Nola and Maureen’s youngest sister who once was in love with Phillip) continues in her iconic role of Blair on One Life to Live that she’s played since 1993.
